About the Event
What started as a weekly YouTube covers series (#FossilFridays) ended up as an Indie/Folk band. In November 2014 the first song made its way to their channel, it was the start of an incredible journey which resulted in 280,000+ views, 2,500+ subscribers and the most amazing support from the people around the world who were tuning in every Friday. Fifty-two weeks later and it was time for the final curtain call and to look towards the next project.
What followed was a unique series called 'Songs For Strangers' where listeners sent letters anonymously, out of which the band created 7 tracks which were recorded and released in 2019. 'Songs For Strangers' EP received high praise for its unique concept which resulted in international & national success. Online support from Mahogany, AlexRainbirdMusic, Indie Folk Central followed as well as being playlisted by Cafe Nero, Costa, Campanile, Quicksilver plus more.
Their debut album 'The Optimist' released in 2018 is a 10 track collection of songs book-ended in lo-fi introduced the IndieFolk/ContemporaryFolk sound the band make and we love it! The first single from the album was the opening track 'Honey Drop' introducing the bands sound of traditional arrangements with a a modern folk production. The second release 'The West' was well received amongst the Indie/Folk and Contemporary Folk community worldwide.
ROSIN is a Brighton based singer/songwriter from Berlin. Her debut single "Sad Sometimes" was released in January 2020. Being in lockdown and experiencing a new personal low allowed her to grow personally as well as develop musically. With poetic and intimate lyrics, a soothing voice and atmospheric arrangements, she gently carries the listener through a journey of personal growth and finding comfort in being vulnerable. Drawing influence from artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Holly Humberstone ROSIN balances her music between soft indie folk and pop. Her latest EP “Now I’m a Woman“ was released on the 22nd of October.
