About the Event
We're delignted to welcome legendary singer and songwriter Chris Difford for his first live gig since he played Madison Square Gardin with Squeeze just before the pandemic started. Chris is a Grammy nominated and double Ivor Novello Award winning lyricist who has brought us characters and sketches from everyday life, and has successfully turned the mundane into the beautiful, the urbane into the exquisite, for over 40 years.
With his collaborator, Squeeze co-founder Glenn Tilbrook, Chris has written some of the most enduring and best-loved songs of our time such as ‘Up The Junction’, ‘Cool For Cats’ and ‘Labelled With Love’, ‘Tempted’ and many others.
He is one of the country’s most respected songwriters and has co-written with a host of musicians and performers that reads like a veritable who’s who of the music industry.
Supporting Chris will be Marie White, the Hastings-based winner of Glastonbury's 2019 Emerging Young Talent Competition. Her deeply personal songs and stunning delivery really moved us. It's no surprise she's been signed to Universal Music and is working on her debut release. Watch this space!
All proceeds from this Session will go towards the Lewes Food Banks who have done some fantastic work over the past year supporting those who have been most affected by the pandemic. Thank you for supporting them by buying a ticket.
