It's a real treat to welcome Danny George Wilson to our first Hilltop Session in 2022. Danny, bandleader of Danny and the Champions of the World, has just released Another Place, a stunning solo album. Danny will be supported by Brighton alt-folk duo Memorial. Another Hilltop treat!

About the Event
Danny George Wilson already has an ecclectic musical career behind him. Frontman of Danny and the Champions of the World, one third of Wilson Bennett Poole and co-owner of Union Music, every Lewesian's favourite record store. Danny has just brought us a personal tour de force with the release of Another Place. This stunning solo album got the four star treatment from Mojo describing this fabulous collection of songs recorded in Sussex with Hamish Benjamin as "an idiosyncratic gem…one of Wilson’s finest".
Supporting Danny will be Brighton based alt-folk duo Memorial, just fresh off a UK tour with Courtney Marie Andrews.
Memorial are Jack Watts and Ollie Spalding whose music stands out for their stunning harmonies reminiscent of early Simon & Garfunkl. Moth To A Flame is the first song they finished together, and it set the tone for what they started working on next, including Latchkey which has been nominated for best song by the UK Americana Music Awards.
